Dr. Jennifer Jones

Dr. Jennifer Jones

Veterinarian

Dr. Jones is a Sedalia native. After graduating from Smith-Cotton High School in 1993, she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. She graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May 1999. Dr. Jones returned to the central MO area in 2008 and opened Advanced Pet Care of Sedalia in 2009.

Dr. Jones’ particular areas of interest include surgery, oncology (cancer), diabetic management, arthritis care, diseases of the thyroid, and other challenging medical diseases.

Dr. Jones resides with her husband and children in Cole Camp, MO. She has two dogs, Nina and Chip, and a cat to complete her family.

Dr. Aaron Criss

Dr. Aaron Criss

Veterinarian

Dr. Aaron Criss is from the Chicago suburbs. He was homeschooled through high school, after which he attended and graduated from Benedictine University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He moved to Columbia, Missouri, in 2012 to attend the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. After he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2016, he joined the Advanced Pet Care team. His special special interests include dentistry and challenging internal medicine cases. Dr. Criss enjoys living in Missouri with his wife, four children, and their Pointer mix, Tolkien. Hobbies they enjoy together include hiking, camping, and reading books.

Dr. Oliveira

Dr. Jessica Oliveira

Veterinarian

Dr. Jessica Oliveira grew up in New Jersey. In the summer of 2020, she moved to Grenada, West Indies, to attend vet school at St. George’s University. For her final clinical year, she moved to Columbia, MO and attended the University of Missouri. She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2024 from SGU. After living in Missouri for a year, she fell in love with nature and culture.

Dr. Jess’ areas of interest include surgery, internal medicine, shelter medicine, and dentistry.

She enjoys living in Missouri with her significant other, their 4 dogs and 5 cats, all rescued from Grenada. Whenever the weather is nice, they enjoy hiking and camping with the dogs. During down time, they like to kick back and relax at home.

Amy
Amy, CVA-1, CSR

Amy, a Certified Veterinary Assistant, CVA-1, is a Sedalia native who joined the Advanced Pet Care team in 2009. Amy enjoys working alongside her husband on their farm, raising cattle and growing crops. Amy, shown here with Abby and Artie, is one of the friendly faces who will greet you at the front desk. Amy is also responsible for all the great Facebook posts you enjoy on our page daily!

Jenni
Jenni, CSR

Jenni joined Advanced Pet Care in 2016. She is one of the friendly faces at the front desk. Born and raised in Sedalia, she lives here with her husband, Faron, their three dogs, Rita, Franklin, and Benelli, and their two cats, Gabby and Cheddar. Jenni enjoys fishing, thrifting, and being with her family!

Adrianne, CSR

Adrianne joined the front desk staff at Advanced Pet Care in 2023. Adrianne resides in Sedalia with her husband, children, and grandson. They have two dogs, Lord and Truman.

Amber, RVT, Practice Manager

Amber, a Registered Veterinary Technician, joined Advanced Pet Care in 2014. She enjoys surgery, medical procedures, and patient nursing care. Shown with Shardik.

Sarah, RVT
Sarah, RVT, shown here with Moose, moved to Missouri from Colorado in 2017 with her husband and their cat, Freddie. She has an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology and has worked in animal health care since 2004. She enjoys spending time with her small flock of sheep and chickens.

Amanda, CVA

Amanda graduated from K-State with a BS in Animal Science. She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant – Level 3. She has worked in the animal care industry since high school. Amanda enjoys patient care and client education. In her free time she likes to spend time with her two daughters, with friends or at the lake.

Stephanie, Veterinary Assistant
Stephanie enjoys working with animals, especially large-breed dogs. She is very interested in learning new things in the veterinary field and helping pet parents. She is pictured with her co-pilot Ludo.

Dani is a recent MU graduate with a BS in Animal Science. She is applying to vet school this year in hopes of becoming a small animal veterinarian. She enjoys working with cats and is on her way to becoming a crazy cat lady.

As a vet assistant, I get to spend my days surrounded by the animals I adore and the people who love them. Whether it’s calming a nervous pup or assisting with a check-up, I’m always here to lend a helping hand (and maybe sneak in a few belly rubs along the way). My passion for animals drives everything I do, and I’m thrilled to be part of a team that’s just as dedicated to their well-being as I am.

Rose, Veterinary Assistant

Rose has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse in the United Kingdom for 9 years and has recently immigrated to the USA with her husband.

Rose has a keen interest in anesthesia and prefers to spend her time in surgery. Outside of work, she spends her time riding her Spanish horse and walking her three rescue pups.

Zoey
Brooke, Veterinary Assistant

Brooke graduated from New Mexico State University with a BS in Animal Science with two minors in chemistry and horse management. She moved from NM to MO with her husband and three dogs, Athena, Apollo, and Luna. Brooke wants to continue her education in veterinary medicine. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors, traveling, or on the lake with her family and friends.
